The Five Senses-An Introduction
Hello and welcome to the first posting in Brain-Mind Enhancement.
We are going to have a lot of fun as we extend our brain and mind capabilities.
How would you like to do some serious exploration of?
1. Who we really are
2. Why we are that way
3. How we can expand on that marvellous person we call ‘ourself’
To facilitate this, we are going to learn:
• The powers of our nonconscious and conscious minds
• How do they affect what we do or don’t do
• What the dominant functions of each are
• How they influence each other
• What we can do to have them work harmoniously together
• And much, much, much more.
I started on this journey of discovery/learning quite a few years ago. What I didn’t realize then was that it would develop into
• Amazing self-discovery
• Incredible self-change
• Discovery of what makes other people do what they do
• How I can assist in helping them make changes
• Realizing what I can do on a local level to make a difference
• Realizing that I can make a difference on a global level
• Realizing what I can do on a global level to make that difference
• And lots, lots, lots more
So, get comfortable, fasten your seat belt, and get ready for the ride that’s going to empower you beyond your wildest dreams.
Are you ready? Okay.
Everyone tells you, “You are unique!” Not only is your thumbprint unique, but you are also a unique, special person - there is no other like you; no two people are the same.
But what does that really mean? Have you ever wondered, what that really means? What does that mean to YOU?
To start with we’re going to explore the importance and significance of your five senses.
Each of your five senses has a role to play in how you respond to life’s offerings, ie through which you filter all the experiences and events you encounter as you live life on a daily basis.
Do you realize that you are inundated with over 10,000,000 bits of information which approach your nervous system via your five senses every second? That’s right every second.
So as you see, hear, feel, smell and eat, these 10,000,000 plus experiences are trying to get into your head, into your mind, into your neurology. There are all these colours, sounds, sensations, feelings, thoughts, all trying to come into your head at the one time.
What would happen if they succeeded? You would go insane; your conscious mind wouldn’t be able to cope; you would become so bewildered that you wouldn’t be able to make any decisions at all, let alone be in control of yourself.
The conscious mind can only deal with about 150 bits of information at any one time, so, you do the mathematics as to how many bits of information have to be deleted before they ever enter your head – about 39,999,860!
Wow, whose job is that? Yours, yes, you do that. Well more specifically your nonconscious mind does.
It is via your own personal filtration system (of which these five senses are a part) that you proactively design your physical and emotional responses, all your behaviours, and therefore the world you’ve designed for yourself to live in.
However, your nonconscious mind with the help of your conscious mind can assist you in changing your world to the place you would like to live in.
The power is in your hands, so to speak. Keep reading these postings to find out that:
“The Force is with You!”
In the next posting, we’ll start looking at these five senses, ie your visual, auditory, kinesthetic, olfactory and gustatory receptors.

Well done on an interesting article Gloria.

Thank you so very much for those kind words.
It’s very encouraging that other people find the material interesting that I’m so passionate about.
Thank you also for taking the time to make a comment.
Do you have a site that I could enjoy?
All the best,
